Are you one of the many who've gotten trapped in the Downline Delusion? What is the Downline Delusion? It's the belief that the results of the Many will out weigh the results of the Few.
Many believe that Spillover will solve all of their problems. They can just sit back, relax and ride the wave to prosperity. They can let everyone else do the work. Guess what! Everyone else believes the same thing so everyone rides nowhere.
What is Spillover? Suppose your downline is a 3×4 Forced Matrix. This means you will have 3 people on your first level, 9 on your second level, 27 on your third level and 81 on your fourth level.
Let's suppose you've filled the three positions on your first level. What do you do with the fourth person you recruit? This person will Spillover to the next level down.
The idea is that if each person in the Matrix recruits only a few people everyone's Matrix will be filled. What actually happens is that few, if any, below you will actually recruit anyone. They'll sit on their hands expecting those above them to fill their Matrix. This doesn't happen and they soon drop out. You'll spend most of your time replacing the dropouts as you throw more good money after bad.
Another problem with a downline "business" is that it isn't a business at all. Most of these programs have no legitimate product to sell and are nothing more than pyramid schemes. Money is made by suckering…excuse me…recruiting other people into the same scam…er…business.
Even if the program does have a legitimate product or products to sell it still isn't a business. Why? Because you aren't a business owner, you're an independent contractor. You are at the mercy of the people on top. They can change products, change prices, change commission scale. They can do whatever they want without notice and you are the loser.
Think carefully before you become involved in a Downline Program. If you truly want to succeed in a business of your own, build a business of your own.
